Lisa Rhodes, MHS, CCC-SLP, L Founder, President
After retiring from a fulfilling career as a Speech-Language Pathologist, I felt a calling to continue serving individuals with intellectual disabilities. My experience in Chicago Public Schools highlighted a significant gap in opportunities for these individuals after graduation. To address this disparity, I founded Making Room, a nonprofit organization focused on reducing sedentary behaviors and promoting community integration.

Shannon Mason, Treasurer School Social Worker
I'm Shannon Mason, a school social worker in my fifth year. Over the past seven years, I've been fortunate to work with children, adolescents, and adults with various disabilities, which has fueled my true passion for this field. It's deeply rewarding to witness young children and adolescents reach their full potential, making my daily work incredibly fulfilling. This role not only allows me to pursue my passion but also provides opportunities to see even more potential emerge. Through the Making Room nonprofit, I have the chance to support my community while observing the positive impact of our efforts on individuals and families. Being involved with this organization enables me to witness the growth and empowerment of those we serve, strengthening my commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
