A huge thank you to our dedicated Dream Team, volunteers, the Frankfort Park District, Plus Ones, and all participants! We had a fantastic time learning the game and developing new skills. Our scrimmage teams showcased their learning in a competitive and fun game, complete with delicious Marcus Theatre popcorn. If you missed out, don't worry – we'll definitely be doing this again.

A huge thank you to the UIC women's basketball head coach Bracey, for the generous tickets and to Ms. J. Smith & Ms. Paige for their excellent coordination! We had an absolutely fantastic time. The lively atmosphere, complete with photos with the mascot and cheerleaders, was truly memorable. We also want to express our sincere appreciation to all our volunteers and supporters.

Sharon Gunn
Sharon Gunn PT, DPT, MS is a doctor in physical therapy with over 40 years of experience in a variety of settings. She has experience in hospitals, nursing homes, Rehabilitation facilities, home care and the school system. Her last twenty years have been working with students from preschool to high school with physical, cognitive, and developmental disabilities. She is a strong advocate for physical activities for all age groups. Her current hobbies include walking, swimming, biking, group exercises, bowling and reading. She just finished her fourth triathlon this August. She is presently working on her book, entitled MAD – March Against Diabetes, that will include the role of exercise in diabetes management.

Gloria J. Bashir, DACM, MSOM, MSW, LCSW, LAc.
Dr. Bashir has a dual career in Social Work and Oriental Medicine. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker she has been a fierce advocate for social, emotional, healthcare and economic justice that included experience in psychiatric social work, child welfare, foster care, and School Social Work. Later in her career Dr. Bashir developed an interest in holistic wellness which spurred a desire to broaden her knowledge. She embarked on a journey that led her to the study of Oriental Medicine and the holistic modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine, earning a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. She has been a practicing Acupuncturist for over 15 years all while continuing to support at risk populations as a Social Worker.
